There we are at St. Anthony's in Oceanside. A small six year old child is playing in the pew in front of us. Let me be more exact: a small six year old boy was playing with himself in the pew in front of us. Yes, you heard right. Masturbating. In church.
I'm trying not to laugh but I'm also too embarassed to look over at Beth and her parents to see if they noticed. So there I am thinking, man this must be a sign from God. He must be telling me to keep my hands off Beth and myself, especially in public!
Then I started getting worried. The priest was up to the part where he says, "Let us all share with each other the sign of peace." And just as he said that, the boy pulls his hand out of his pants and covers his mouth to sneeze. Now you gotta think that there's something wrong with a kid (or anyone for that matter) who has no qualms about rubbing one off in public but is still well-mannered enough to cover his mouth when he sneezes. Whatever, man. At that point I was thinking that I hope this kid doesn't try to shake my hand.
Good thing he didn't.

I guess the boy didn't know what kind of place he was or he just didn't care, or the parents didn't care about the boy. How come they didn't notice what he was doing. Boy! Call it parental guidance.
