So what if he flops. So what if he looks like a Ferengi. So what if his sister Cheryl could beat him one-on-one. So what if I'm a die-hard Knicks fan and he's broken my dreams a zillion times over.
I gotta give my props to Reggie.
Reggie Miller is everything a professional athlete should be: the ultimate competitor, and one of the deadliest shooters in the clutch ever. Even when I hated Reggie for killing the Knicks time and time again, I loved him. He had spunk, he had fire, and he always gave his best no matter what. Reggie had that swagger born from the knowledge that he could and he would beat you.
I haven't gotten this upset about an NBA player retiring since Charles Barkley hung his sneakers up. I really am gonna miss Reggie's game, but I hope Richard Hamilton can fill his shoes, because surely the torch has been passed to him.
Reggie, man, thanks for playing the game the right way. But man, you should have been a Knick.
